My Story…

I started in retail aged 15, as a floor sweeper for DEKA, a department store rebranded from Woolworths Variety. I worked with a number of very experienced retailers, and I realised very quickly that retail is in my blood. Concepts such as “stack it high and watch it fly” and “right stock at the right time” were learned very quickly.

I was then headhunted to Kmart , where I ran the entire apparel departments, and was involved in the ordering of merchandise, displays and staff development. At the age of 23 I was appointed as one of Kmart’s youngest ever store managers.

I have also worked in a number of smaller retailers including fashion and specialised retail.

I then joined Noel Leeming Group, was the General manager of the biggest store, then moved to Christchurch to run the biggest store in the South Island, as well as the very successful Queenstown store.

Throughout my career I have won a number of business awards, including Retailer of the Year in 2006 and 2010, as well as many company specific store of the year awards.

I am 100% customer focussed, and all strategies recommended will be focussed on delivering amazing customer experiences in your store.

Recently I have been spending my time researching world class retailers particularly in Australia and the USA, I will use this research, as well as my experience to grow your business.

I have an in depth and intrinsic understanding of retail, and will share my skills and insights to assist you in getting a return on your investment, in both money and time, ultimately improving your bottom line.
